Last week, with the help of Nicole Seu of studio 3511 photography, we shot a couple of summer looks for the next issue of Go Kailua Magazine. We shopped around the best Kailua Boutiques for pieces to create this easy breezy weekend look. This is one take I captured with my iphone camera. Will be posting more shots later this week.

Teresa wears a Bobi tunic and Go Love necklace from Olive Boutique, Fighting Eel knit striped pants, Linea Pelle convertible turquoise clutch also from Fighting Eel, Debra Mack bracelets and earrings, and Satya ring both from Lily Lotus, Haviana slippers from Brazilian Show Room. All located in charming Kailua town.

Inspired to be French

A little French style inspiration

Who doesn’t love the French and their “je ne sais pas” sense of style?  More than just for the fashion, food, and of course tax-free wine, my mother is in search of a house to buy and live out the rest of her life in the south of France near Bordeaux.

It’s a fantasy many have, I mean it sounds pretty sweet. Riding a bicyclette avec un baguette & mon chien! My mother is realizing her dream. Does she speak French? Un petit peu! But if you play the part it doesn’t matter right?

So in honor of my mom taking off tomorrow here’s a little French inspired outfit I’d be wearing if I were to join her. Stripes of course, a flirty leather skirt, and these Charlotte Olympia flats I’m obsessed with. Hope this inspires you too.

Bargain find: Costa Blanca striped swing top

It’s hot still pretty much everywhere, but the fall fashion season has already begun. And now is the time to find the good buys before they sell out. One awesome deal I spotted was at Olive Boutique in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. The owner Ali McMahon carries a chic array of pieces you want to wear all the time, including this swing top by Costa Blanca. At just $59 it’s not in the cheap “fast fashion” category, but actually a really nice well made piece you’ll get to wear for a few seasons, not just one or two wears. Don’t delay, make it over to Olive and score yourself a piece you can wear with shorts, leggin’s, skinny jeans, or even a pencil skirt. Extremely versatile in a chic oh so French, yet oh so American kind of way. Oui Oui?

Travel must: the perfect pouch

It’s travel season, and what do women need more than a good travel organizer or make-up bag? I’m not sure. It’s always on my list of things I need to find, i.e. a better one than I’ve got. I’m usually  using some freebie I got with my last “gift with purchase,” ugly but functions. And then I came across this…

leather pouch

Sound the horns, I can officially stop hunting. I found the perfect zippered pouch. It’s crafted by Meredith Bridges in Atlanta. Not in Georgia? Not to fret, you can find her well crafted goods on etsy.

Why is it so awesome? Let me count the ways. At 9″ long, it’s roomy enough for all my makeup brushes, so they don’t get crushed. And a good 4″ wide I can fit my large Bobbi Brown bronzer, Voluminous mascara, Nars multiple, and all the lip shimmers I need, plus it fits the kinda big Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer I wear daily (with SPF)!

At $75 it’s not a “bargain” but it’s as cute as it is durable thanks to industrial strength nylon threading and heavy-duty brass zipper.

Keep your musts on hand in your purse or in your suitcase. I can officially stop looking, I just want another one now.

I'm craving this mint one.

Hallelujah it’s Summer!

It’s now post Memorial day weekend, and we find ourselves officially in summer mode. For me summer is just as much about reminiscing about the years when I actually enjoyed a “summer break” and the reality of actually having the occasion to wear easy breezy dresses, glitzy sandals whilst dining al fresca.

Here’s my version of summer …

What does summer mean to you?

Mother’s Day Special Package

We love our moms. We honor our moms this Sunday (May 12) with Mother’s Day. But how will you show your gratitude to her for all the years of wiping up your snot and other things only a mom can do with love.

Sometimes the best gift isn’t a “thing” at all. Right now with every styling consult purchased for Mom, I’m offering a free hour for you. So for $175 I’m offering 2 hours of my styling services (either at home or out shopping) plus an extra hour for you!

Maybe she just needs a little help figuring what to wear with what, or how to modernize her look, whatever it is I can help. Because we love Mom, and she doesn’t have to know you got something out of this too! Offer good through May 31, 2013.

My mother and me.
