Personal Style session with Rebecca, one hot mama

Mom’s give so much, but often not to themselves. I love when I get to show gals how easy it is to roll of bed and still look great, with a few well considered wardrobe staples. If you saw my last post you’ll know I heart Olive Boutique in Kailua. Few places have it all under one roof, all I need to style a great outfit that is, so with little time Rebecca and I headed to Olive.

Rebecca has one hot body. Athletic, tan, and beachy blond hair to boot, it’s not hard to find pieces that flatter this woman. However there are few outfits we found particularly useful for her busy lifestyle that worked for Hawaii’s ever present warm weather, and her mainland travel needs too. Let me stress these are wardrobe making pieces, not just a one-time cute look. Everything for busy moms needs to be interchangeable, washable, and comfortable. What we chose met all our needs and more.

Most of what she tried on was less than $100. We walked out spending less than $600, which might seem like a lot. But we covered the basics for this season, updated her look, and got her in pieces she desperately needed.

Another successful personal shopping experience. What are your favorite fall staples? Would you sport these looks?

Styling at Olive Boutique

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with a friend Meagan at Olive Boutique in Kailua. Film editor Simon Holland is creating a short video showcasing what I do as a personal stylist. Here’s a glimpse of what’s to come.

Falling back in love with Portland

Welcome. I’m ending this drawn out hiatus not a day too soon. Thank you for sticking around as I find a new voice as newly anointed Personal Stylist for Nordstrom Downtown Portland (more on that later).

It’s cold, it’s wet, duh it’s Portland! If anything, it’s a chance for you to pull out your riding pants, booties, and wool coats. Make that capes and faux fur vests instead of the typical and boring down-filled jackets and sailor inspired peacoats. You must of course invest in a rain resistant travel purse too. Here are my everyday favorite picks that incorporate this fall’s hottest trends into your current wardrobe without breaking the bank. All available at Nordstrom.
